Empathy

Today on the day we celebrate Juneteeth or Emancipation of Slavery and in a political setting where there seems to be such a lack of empathy and an increased interest in designating certain people “different” or “less then” I wanted to post a video that was shared at my last Medical Group meeting.  It is a reminder for all of us to see the humanity in every person.  Though this video occurs in a medical setting the sentiment is universal and such a good reminder.  Thanks for indulging me.

  1. You have one of the most beautiful souls I have ever encountered. Thank you for always showing us how to be better, and why that is so very, very important.

  2. Very powerful. I’m sitting a chair in my son’s hospital room, waiting for his Drs to round today. He’s had two abdominal surgeries in the last month for a perforated bowel. It may have happened a third time and we will make some decisions today. He’s finally asleep so now I hope they don’t come right away. I’d like to lay down too but there isn’t enough room. I remain hopeful and positive. Watching this video was meaningful and I hope it can help me with some patience while I continue to wait
