Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day – Leather and Vintage Hmong Remnant Handbag

Hi everyone! I’m excited today to give away a leather handbag I made earlier this year.  It is made out of leather repurposed from a coat donated by a friend and embellished with a vintage Hmong textile and a tribal tassel for the zipper pull.  The bag measures 12×7 inches and is lined.  I am happy to ship internationally.  To enter leave a comment describing a favorite handmade gift you have given to others.  For an extra chance to win leave a comment and follow me on Instagram (@entropyalwayswinsblog).  This contest is open until December 12th 5PM PST.

  1. Very pretty bag! I love to give quilts to everyone! I was especially proud of the quilters in our area when I asked them to help Moore OK, and send them our extra quilts that did not yet have a home. My husband ended up sending over 160 beautiful quilts to the Oklahoma City firefighters to distribute to Moore. I was very proud of the quilting community in Northern Nevada!

  2. I knit a hat for my daughter a few years ago. She recently moved to the PNW and is experiencing winter for the first time. She told me that she’s using the hat and has gotten compliments on it – and asked me for more!

  3. Your bag is truly gorgeous! My favorite gift of all time was the year I made three Tinkerbell costumes for three-year old nieces, and a Captain Hook costume for a two-year old nephew. Of course there happened to be a blizzard that Halloween, and the Tink costumes looked a bit funny over very warm things, but the girls didn’t notice or care.

  4. Thank you for the chance to win. I have fond memories of attending Hmong New Year with my mother growing up (she was an English as a Second-Language teacher and knew a lot of the participants)

  5. What a beautiful bag! My favorite gift I ever made was a Totoro mini quilt I made for a quilter who has a houseful of cats, and quilts. She made me a patchwork cat mini and it always seemed as though they were connected 🙂
