In two days I start back to work again after a month off. I have logged many hours doing continuing education for Dayjob, baked almost every variety of pumpkin muffin/scone/cookie you can imagine and of course have been creating.
In a month:
Pattern Play (I replicated the Tate Museum flooring pattern using a modification of Latifah Saafir’s Glam Clam Pattern in bag form. For fun I added a knit pillow of my design to match my previously finished quilt top with buttons covered with treasured Umbrella Prints fabric):
Bag Design (repurposing photos I had taken on canvas)
Block Making (for my Bee Sewcial group and shown with a minimini quilt made by Stephanie Ruyle).
Minimalist Design Play with Leather Scraps
Anatomical Stitch Sketching
Fabric Making
Quilt Finishing (with amazing quilting by Jessie Ziegler)
Self Portrait Work In Process (with my first bias strip quilt using scrubs on hospital sheets)
My creative and family life are feeling extra rich after this sweet time. Grateful
Hillary
Wow! You have been hard at work. Love seeing how your brain works! You amaze and inspire me!!! Thanks for sharing.
A month off seems so long but fills up so quickly. I am glad you were able to do so many lovely things, your quilting and knitting projects are lovely.
Well Hillary, I’m sorry you weren’t able to accomplish much during your time off…(again – do you never sleep?!). That tiny blue triangle piece in the tweed is so fabulous , I mean amazing-love. Also I just returned from Houston and saw your pieces there too- have seen them on the blog but they were superb. ( of course the modern exhibit was my all around fave but there is always some wicked-good inspiration to be found on every row). Looks like a pretty excellent (and ridiculously productive) stay-cay to me.
Time is a tricky thing isn’t it?! Goes by fast and stands still depending on how you look at it. So in love with your work. The repurposing projects, and honestly – all of the rest too – are just so inspiring.
You did amazing things in your month! I love your projects. Very creative. It must have been so rewarding!
So many fun projects! you got a lot done and I love the knitted cushion to go with your quilt top too!
you have been BUSY!!!! Gosh, so many really fun things for you in October. I cannot even imagine what you will do in retirement. look out world here Hillary comes! Oh, and PS I hear/saw you have another fabulously quilted quilt coming your way. I almost stole it. I’m just saying.
