I have been finding inspiration in modern paintings and geometric patterns lately when designing quilts. Recently I came across the work of Alain Biltereyst and fell in love (http://aqua-velvet.com/2013/12/alain-biltereyst-minimalist-geometric-paintings/). One of his geometric paintings was the catalyst for this recent quilt top. Now I just have to figure out how to quilt it.

Your new work is fabulous! Two new quilts, very cool. Claire is darling as a model!
Thanks mom. Love you.
You are a quilter after my own heart! I love finding inspiration from abstract & hard-edge art. I also love that you gave credit to your inspiration (so many don’t).
More please!
Isn’t it fun to “break the quilting rules”? So many great options. 🙂
It’s gorgeous! How big did you make it?
Hi Vicki, the quilt top is 64 inches wide and 92 inches tall. It may be hard to believe but my original intent was to make a baby quilt. 🙂
